Why secretary is still the top job for WOMEN?

Summary:

About 4 million workers in United States fell under the secretary between 2006 and 2010, and 96% of them are women, according to the U.S. census. 

The rise of the secretary begins with the Industrial Revolution. It became the a female job as companies realized they could pay women lower wages to do the work. Secretarial schools are teaching students to be secretary right away. Little amount of things are changed of secretary.  First, generalists tend to dominate the list of most common jobs, regardless of gender. The top job for American men, for example, is truck driver. Later secretary became a dirty word. The word "secretary" has been falling out of favor for decades, largely due to the feminist movement.

Related to our studies:

It is related with our economy. Still lots of companies don't employ women a lot. But for the secretary, it is really nice that most of the women are attending.

Opinion:

I am glad that women has a perfect job of their own. If I become a CEO of a company, I will definitely hire women secretary.

Apple stock plunges 12%

Summary: Apple's stock is keep fallin down. Apple's stock has dropped more than 35% since September when it was the highest point. It is keep falling down because of the investors. Investors now fell skeptical because of the iPhone maker's growth prospects.

Apple's forecasts show that the consumer demand for its product is slowing down especially iPhones.

Because of the decline, Apple is relatively bargain. When we compare with Google, google is earning 16 times of their expected 2013 earnings.

To become most valuable publicly traded company in the world, Apple nudged out Exxon Mobile one year ago.So Apple holds the highest place, but they are narrowing down.

Related to our studies: We learn about stock markets and how they are affecting the country. We also are playing game about the market place and how we should invest to the companies by learning about how the stock is working. So as we see this article, we can realize that people would not buy Apple's stock a lot.

Opinion: As I see the graph of the Apple, they should have more creative product or some kind different from what they usually selling. If the Apple just keep goes like this, the company might collapse. As I'm using their product, I wish they do not collapse. I heard lots of complaining from people and they say Apple's phones are almost all same. It is not good to have downfall for a long time. It is now time to go up.

Bank of America Cuts 14,600 Employees in 2012 to Reduce Costs

Summary: Bank of America cut of 14,601 employees for the profit. 5,400 people was cut in fourth quarter and it is the highest headcount in a year. About 3,000 people reductions are came from LAS. Bank of America, ranked second by assets among U.S. lenders, still has about 8,000 more employees than JPMorgan Chase & Co., the largest U.S. bank. 


Opinion: My opinion is that the Americans are losing their jobs because of the profit. It is not good. The total people of the Bank of America is 267,190. Almost 15% of the people are fired. It seems this shows that the economy of USA is fallin down. 

Related to our studies: We learned about the Labor in the United States. Labor movement rise to power in our studies but when I see this article, I think it is decreasing these days. It seems that the America is developing their economy, but still for that economy, some people are losing their jobs for the company's profit.

Week I                             Working Conditions in China

Summary: This is the article about the working conditions in China. China is a big country. So there are lots of people in China. In China, the workers wants to work more than 60 hours. But there 's a ceiling on it. However, when the great migration leveled off, wages began to rise. All of the workers wanted to increase the wages of money. But they wanted better working conditions for themselves and for their families.

One of the biggest problems in Chinese factories is that the workers are constantly leaving. Factories hope that by improving the working conditions and living conditions, training costs will fall.

Opinion: It seems that this article is making NYTimes advertisement. Anyway, I think China has a problem. But there is a reason that they have a problem. Because there are lots of people in China, but there are few factories for the amount of people in China. So the factories should make the workers work little for others. China is improving themselves by making good working conditions. Chinese people doesn't care the wages of money more than the working conditions for themselves and for their families. However, China has been growing their economy constantly. I think this is just the way to develop China.
